Combining and controlling the properties of the polyurethane polymer and its density leads to the existence of a very wide range of different materials, so polyurethanes are used in many applications. In addition to polyisocyanates and polyols, the production of polyurethanes needs various other chemicals to control the reactions of formation of polyurethane and to create the exact properties in the final product.
- The reaction can also take place in forms (usually these are injection molds), leading to the production of, for example, armrests, seats, backrests for road vehicles and other components. This polyurethane is called integral and flows mainly between component A (polyol) and component B (isocyanate) .
- Rebond is a polyurethane product made from pieces of shredded polyurethane foam using a binder. The properties of bonded foam can be varied over a wide range by careful selection of base material, particle size, degree of compression, type and amount of binder. Its relatively high density and excellent resistance makes it suitable for a variety of applications, including vibration dampening, flooring, sports mats, rebound mattresses, decorative panels, children's play, etc.
- A large part of the produced polyurethanes are in the form of large blocks of foam, which are cut for use in mattresses, sponges for washing, pillows, for thermal insulation, etc. They are known by the name Dunapren.
